Balsamic Glazed Baked Apples

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F
  • Wash and core the apples, leaving a bit of the core at the base of the apple to hold in the filling.
  • Combine the softened butter, brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, cinnamon and chopped pecans in a small bowl.
  • Carefully spoon the mixture into each apple core, pressing it in to fill each.
  • Fill a baking dish with enough water to cover the bottom and place the apples upright in the dish.
  • Bake the apples until soft and the filling is browned, about one hour.
  • Serve warm alongside vanilla ice cream or smothered in whipped cream.
