(Honey Crisp or Fuji)

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F
Wash and core the apples, leaving a bit of the core at the base of the apple to hold in the filling.
Combine the softened butter, brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, cinnamon and chopped pecans in a small bowl.
Carefully spoon the mixture into each apple core, pressing it in to fill each.
Fill a baking dish with enough water to cover the bottom and place the apples upright in the dish.
Bake the apples until soft and the filling is browned, about one hour.
Serve warm alongside vanilla ice cream or smothered in whipped cream.
